General FAQ

  • Two reasons!

    1. We use simple, natural ingredients and no preservatives. Gluten-free items also generally have a short-shelf. By freezing our goodies right away, we lock in freshness so you get a fresh-baked experience right at home.

    2. Flakely is a ZERO WASTE business. By selling our products frozen, we ensure that we NEVER have to waste food.

  • At this time we use a milk protein powder in ALL of our baked goods.

    We do have the ability to produce a vegan baguette and vegan bagels, but a full batch order is required.

  • Yes, we do birthdays, anniversaries, showers, and even weddings!

    NOTE: Flakely is not a full-service cake designer, so our offering is limited to a few basic flavors of cake and buttercream, and simple designs.

  • While we strive to make everyone happy and love everything we make- of course everyone has a preference or opinion. If there is something that was our mistake- we will do everything we can to fix it and make it better!

    However- WE DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS. We are a micro bakery and we front the costs for things like shipping, packaging, ingredients and labor. We bake to order each week and are a no waste bakery, which is why we sell our products frozen and usually sell out each week. We always want the opportunity to make things better- so please tell us if you have an issues so we can communicate directly about it,

Shipping FAQ

  • We ship to most U.S. locations…basically anywhere our products can get to in 3 days or less from our Philadelphia kitchen.

  • If your order arrived to us after FRI at 10am- your order may not ship out until the following Monday.

    For example if you ordered on Saturday April 16th, we may not be able to ship your order out until Monday, April 25th.

    Orders are shipped out the FOLLOWING week after order is place, as we bake to order, and require a week to get everything completed with our small team.

    We may also halt shipping due to weather, and we may choose to stop shipping completely in the summer. Subscribe to our emails for updates!

  • Shipping Responsibility & Carrier Delays
    Once an order leaves our facility, Flakely is not responsible for damage, delays, or mishandling caused by UPS. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept this risk. This policy applies to both the outer shipping box and any individually wrapped product boxes inside. We do not process refunds based on packaging conditions once received.

    Our team takes great care in packaging each item, individually wrapping every product and adding extra protective cushioning to help ensure your order arrives in the best possible condition. However, once the package is in UPS’s possession, we cannot control or take responsibility for how it is handled or delivered.

    Lost Packages
    If a package is lost in transit by UPS, the customer is responsible for contacting UPS directly to file a claim. We are happy to provide your tracking number upon request if you do not already have it.

Pre-Order FAQ

  • If you’re a shipping or delivery customer- check back the following Sunday when we upload fresh menu availability!

    If you’re local: Come visit our walk-up window in Manyunk on Saturdays from 12-2 pm! We’ll have all your favorite treats, plus some fun extras that aren’t available for pre-order!

  • At our Manyunk Kitchen on Thursdays from 11-3 and Saturdays between 12 and 2pm. We are additionally open for walk up orders (with no pre order needed) Mondays-Thursdays 11-3 and Saturdays 12-2.

  • On-demand deliveries are now available through DoorDash on Thursdays between 12 and 3 pm and on Saturdays from 12-2.

  • We Bake to order each week...that's why we are a zero waste bakery.

    If you are unable to make the pick up day that you are either assigned, or have requested- we will happily offer you other pick up days when we are in the bakery producing, but usually not open to the public. We will not, however, give refunds for orders that are produced just for you, and there is perhaps a change of mind. This is why our custom cakes and online pre-orders are pre-paid, because we are baking that product specifically for you.
